UPDATED 2:50 P.M. with Suburban Journal job cuts

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch said today it would cut 14 full-time and four part-time jobs.

Twelve of the positions cut were in advertising, two in operations and four in the newsroom, composed of news researchers and a photo assistant.

The Suburban Journals also cut 28 jobs in advertising and support areas. Publisher Bob Williams called the reductions "difficult but necessary."
