About FinanceInTime
Last updated
FinanceInTime is a financial news publication covering markets, business and the economy in the United States, Europe and the rest of the world. We explain what is moving prices, companies and economies, where it comes from and what comes next.
Our mission
Our motto is Deciphering the past | Analyzing the now | Defining the future. It describes how we build every story:
- Analyzing the now. We start with what happened: the facts and figures of the event, taken from the primary source wherever one exists, whether a central bank statement, a statistics release, a company filing or a regulator's decision.
- Deciphering the past. Numbers mean little without context. We compare them with previous readings, long-term trends, targets and history, so readers can see why the news matters.
- Defining the future. We end with what to watch: the next scheduled data releases, meetings, earnings dates and votes, and the conditions that could change the picture. We report what others expect and what official calendars show. We do not make predictions in our own voice, and we never tell readers what to buy or sell.

How our newsroom works
Every section has a named editor. Each category is the responsibility of one or more editors, listed with their sections on our masthead. The editor reviews every article in their section before it is published.
A named person approves every article. We use AI tools to monitor official sources, gather research and prepare first drafts. No article is published automatically. An editor reads each draft in full, edits it, checks every figure, name and date against the sources, and approves it for publication. That editor's name appears as the byline, and they are responsible for what we publish. Our AI policy explains this process in detail.
We show our sources. Every news article lists the documents and data it is based on, with the primary source first. Readers can check our work.
We correct our mistakes in public. When we get something wrong, we fix it and add a note to the article saying what changed. Recent corrections are listed on our corrections page.
We do not give investment advice. Our journalism explains events and their context. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any investment. See our disclaimer.
