Super Micro sees September-quarter revenue of $18.5 billion-$19.5 billion, above guidance
The server maker's preliminary update cited increased demand for AI platforms; it will report full results on November 3.

Super Micro Computer (Nasdaq: SMCI) said on Tuesday that revenue for the quarter ended September 30 will be well above its own forecast, citing demand for artificial intelligence servers, according to a preliminary business update filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
What the company said
Supermicro estimated first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenue in a range of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion. Its previous guidance was $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion. The midpoint of the new range, $19.0 billion, is 26.7% above the midpoint of the old one, $15.0 billion (computed). The company said the difference was "primarily due to increased demand for AI platforms."
It estimated gross margin at 12.0% to 12.5%, compared with guidance of 10.4% to 10.8%, "primarily due to customer and product mix." The midpoint of the new range is 1.65 percentage points above the old midpoint (computed).
About the company
Supermicro describes itself as a provider of IT solutions for AI, enterprise, storage and 5G/edge computing. It said its products are designed and manufactured in-house in the United States, Taiwan and the Netherlands.
Caveats
The company stressed that the information is "unaudited" and "based on preliminary results and management's estimates and is inherently uncertain and subject to revision" as it completes its financial close. Actual results "may differ materially."
The update did not include net income, earnings per share, cash flow or a forecast for the current quarter.
What to watch
Supermicro will present full results on a conference call on Tuesday, November 3, at 5:00 p.m. ET.
